Where Aaron started

Aaron Milne started Aaron Milne’s Bookkeeping in 2026, after about 8 years as a full-time accountant. He was just starting out, with no website.

He needed a way for Pittsburgh contractors and small business owners who’ve fallen behind on their books to find him, to see that he wouldn’t judge them for it, and to know exactly how to ask for help.

What the website included

  • A homepage introducing catch-up bookkeeping, ongoing bookkeeping and monthly reports.
  • A three-step explanation of getting started, with a contact path for requesting a catch-up call.
  • An introduction to Aaron and answers to common service questions.

The new homepage, section by section

Aaron’s visitors are behind on their books, and opening them again is the hardest part. Every section makes asking for help a little easier. Here’s the page from the top.

  1. Aaron Milne’s Bookkeeping homepage header: “Get your books caught up before year-end,” with a Get a free catch-up call button

    01

Meet them where they are: behind

The headline is what a business owner who’s months behind wants: their books caught up before year-end. One button asks for a free catch-up call, and the line under it says what that call is: short, about how far behind you are, and no judgment.

  2. Section headed “Falling behind on your books happens,” above three services: catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping, monthly bookkeeping and monthly reports

    02

Say it happens, then show the way back

The page acknowledges that books can fall behind, then introduces three services in a practical order: catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping, monthly bookkeeping and monthly reports. A visitor can see the help available for getting caught up and keeping the books current.

  3. Section headed “How catch-up bookkeeping works,” with three numbered steps and a Get a free catch-up call button

    03

Take away the reason to wait

Three steps: a free call, send what you have, you’re caught up. “No need to tidy up first” answers the worry that you have to get organized before anyone sees your books. And nothing starts until you say yes.

  4. Section headed “Clean books don’t need a big firm,” with Aaron’s photo, his experience and a More about Aaron link

    04

Show who will be doing the books

Aaron’s photo, and a line that shows he gets it: the jobs come first and the books slide. Then why he can be trusted with the numbers: QuickBooks certified, about 8 years as a full-time accountant, and a client list he keeps small.

  5. Section headed “Catch-up bookkeeping questions” with three questions: how far behind is too far, what catch-up costs, and whether Aaron does taxes

    05

Answer what people hesitate to ask

How far behind is too far? What does catch-up cost? Do you do taxes? The answers are on the page: how many months back Aaron can go, a typical price range, and that he works alongside your tax preparer. A visitor knows before they ask whether he’s the right fit.
